Enrollment Procedures for Art Camp
- Enrollment for Summer Art Camp will open online on Wednesday, April 15, at 1 pm.
- Art Camp is designed for children ages 6 and older; children ages 5 and under will not be admitted. Students must be the minimum age for their age group by the start of camp.
- Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited; camp does sell out.
- Registration is only available online. Note: account sign-up and login is necessary.
- If you do not have a My LACMA account, set one up and test it prior to registering.
- If you have a My LACMA account, we recommend testing it out by logging in prior to registering.
- L.A. County kids are eligible for discounted pricing through NexGenLA. Please note that NexGenLA enrollment cannot be expedited. We recommend submitting the enrollment form at least three weeks in advance to allow sufficient time for processing.
- Payment is required upon registration.

Information
- Due to construction, art camp will take place in gallery spaces and outdoors on LACMA's campus.
- Art Camp hours are Monday through Friday, 10 am–3 pm, with some exceptions.
- Students must wear comfortable clothes and shoes (no flip flops or skate shoes).
- A supervised one-hour lunch break is scheduled each day; please pack a nut-free lunch and water bottle every day.
- If your child has any allergies or special needs, please notify the Art Class Coordinator prior to the Art Camp start date.
- Personal items such as clothing and lunches should be labeled with the student’s name. No toys or games are permitted. We ask that students refrain from using cell phones during camp hours.

Cancellation Policy
A refund equal to half of tuition paid will be granted for cancellations made three weeks before camp start date. No refunds will be given for cancellations made less than three weeks prior to camp start date. Please notify us immediately of any cancellations so that a child on our waitlist can attend camp. Full refunds will only be granted if the program is canceled or for medical reasons.
Parking
The Pritzker Parking Garage is accessible from 6th Street and Ogden Drive. Please bring your parking ticket for free 30-minute parking validation.
Please park and walk your child into the museum’s camp headquarters every day. Also, for the protection of your children, please inform us if you have made arrangements for another parent or caregiver to pick up or drop off your children for Art Camp.
Campers will be introduced to a wide variety of materials and techniques to express themselves.

Around the World (In Person, Outdoors)
Observe various artists from different parts of the world and explore different ways of creating dynamic works of art using various materials. Experiment with watercolors, oil pastels, color pencils, markers and found images and have fun exploring art from around the world! Taught by Jesus Mascorro.

Painted People and Portraits (In Person, Outdoors)
How do you create a memory? You can paint a picture, sculpt a portrait, or compose a poem. See how artists did just that in the exhibitions Collecting Impressionism at LACMA, Village Square, Deep Cuts, and in LACMA’s permanent collection, then paint, sculpt, and collage portraits and more. Taught by Rosanne Kleinerman.

Join imaginative and fun in-person outdoor camps during the summer break. Inspired by LACMA's collection and exhibitions, campers will embark on exciting tours led by a team of creative museum educators and artists and then unleash their creativity in our fun outdoor art classrooms. Art materials will be provided! Enrollment for Summer Art Camp will open online on Wednesday, April 15, at 1 pm. Registration closes 10 days before each session. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Morning care is available Monday–Friday from 9–10 am for an additional fee of $90. Extended care is available Monday–Thursday from 3–5:30 pm for an additional fee on weeks indicated by an asterisk (*) below.

Passport to Art (Outdoors)
Grab your creative passport! Each day campers, we'll travel to a different part of the world by exploring artworks in the museum and learning about artists from diverse cultures. Inspired by these discoveries, we'll create our own paintings, sculptures, and mixed-media projects. Taught by artist Jesus Mascorro.

June Swoon (Outdoors)
Spend a week strolling through LACMA’s galleries while looking at beautiful art, from miniature soccer players to French landscape paintings and portraits to gorgeous dresses from China. After exploring the artistic wonderland of the museum, we'll make our own incredible drawings, paintings, sculptures, and prints. Taught by artist Rosanne Kleinerman.

Art That Moves (Outdoors)
Inspired by sculptures like Three Quintains (Hello Girls) by Alexander Calder, this class explores the exciting world of kinetic art—art that moves! Using paper, paper clips, scissors, and glue sticks, we'll experiment with color, balance, and abstract shapes as we design and build our own kinetic sculptures. Through playful making and discovery, we'll see how simple materials can create artworks that balance, spin, sway, and dance in the air. Taught by artist Maggie Latorre.

Dreams, Imagery, and the Absurd in Art (Outdoors)
Dive into a surrealist adventure exploring the uncanny in art. We’ll make art that’s as unique as our dreams and play creative parlor games to giggle and engage our imaginations as we learn drawing, painting, mixed media, and collage techniques to make multiple 2D and 3D masterpieces. Stay cool this summer by discovering art made in the shade, from a backyard tea party and breezy gardens to soccer fields and mysterious garage. What makes for a memorable adventure at the museum? Art Excursion at LACMA (Outdoors)
Discover art from around the world and dream of painting in the French countryside, scoring a goal on the soccer field, and creating textiles influenced by Chinese fashion. After exploring the exhibitions Village Square, Deep Cuts, Fútbol Is Life, and Fashioning Chinese Women, as well as artworks from LACMA’s permanent collection, we'll paint portraits and landscapes, sculpt figures and athletes, print on fabric, collage, embroider, draw, and more. Sculpting Techniques (Outdoors)
From cardboard to clay, explore different materials for sculpting from. We’ll take inspiration from artworks from around the world, from ancient times to the present, then learn about additive and subtractive techniques, relief, assemblage, kinetic sculptures, and more. Drawing Like a Scientist (Outdoors)
Explore art from the perspective of the life sciences. We'll observe nature on LACMA's campus using binoculars, maps, compasses, and field notebooks and examine nature-themed work in the museum’s collection, then focus on our drawing skills by practicing some of the rigorous techniques used by science illustrators throughout the ages. All levels are welcome. Taught by artist and wildlife biologist Stacey Vigallon.

Small Moments, Big Creations (Outdoors)
Many artists find inspiration in their everyday life—waiting at a bus stop, playing your favorite sport, or noticing small moments during the day can all become the starting point for art. We'll explore these moments and transform them into sculptures, watercolors, and a collaborative zine at a fun and creative space for curious minds and imaginative spirits to turn ordinary moments into big creations! Taught by artist Patricia Yossen.

Fun with Fiber Arts (Outdoors)
Learn unique skills in a creative environment at this introduction to textile arts. After exploring LACMA’s permanent collection and special exhibitions for inspiration and to ignite creativity, we'll explore various hands-on processes like weaving, mending with patches, fabric collage, embroidery, and other fiber art techniques. Taught by artist Connie Rohman.

Explore water as a powerful force in both nature and art. Through looking at artworks in LACMA’s galleries, hands‑on studio projects, and creative discussions, we'll discover how artists across cultures have represented oceans, rivers, rain, and water rituals, then experiment with drawing, sculpture, mixed media, and storytelling to create original artworks that reflect water’s beauty, movement, and importance to life on Earth. Mixed Media Storytelling (Outdoors)
Get to know your fellow young artists and practice your storytelling skills! At this camp, we'll explore artworks in LACMA's galleries and around the museum's campus to help guide our own art-making journeys, then experiment with a variety of materials and techniques, combining them to create intriguing mixed media pieces. From printmaking with unique patterns to mobile-phone photography to drawing to stitching, you’ll leave with inspiring new tools of self expression. Taught by artist Elly Dallas.
